CM Punjab laptop scheme is an initiative of Maryam Nawaz Shareef to provide free laptops to all public university students. Now, medical, dental, and nursing students will also be eligible to receive a free laptop from the government.  Students in their 1st and 2nd semesters with a Punjab domicile are eligible.

The primary purpose of this programme is to bridge the gap between students and the digital era. This will give a way to take a step in the digital world.  Urban and rural students will get access to modern technology. How to apply in CM Punjab laptop scheme 2026

Students can apply via the online portal. After a thorough verification process by the university, the student will be able to obtain a laptop. The deserving students will also receive a laptop if they meet a minimum of 65% criteria. University and medical College students should hold greater than 80% marks in FSC.  Students who have previously received laptops under any government scheme are not eligible for this program.

Eligibility Criteria For CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2026 HEC Approved

  1. The CM Punjab laptop scheme will only be provided to Public sector students. Public universities, including those offering medical, dental, and nursing programs, will also be eligible.
  2. More than 60 % marks in FSC.
  3. CGPA should be more than 2.5 in annual exams or in previous semester exams.
  4. A valid Punjab province domicile and CNIC are mandatory.
  5. Private Sector students are not eligible for the free laptop scheme.
  6. Those students are not eligible who have already received a laptop.

  • Merit List: After a thorough verification by the HEC, a list of eligible candidates will be compiled based on the provided academic documents and results.
  • Merit List Display Portal: The Official list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the CM laptop website. Students will also be informed via SMS, Gmail, the notice board, or the university portal.
  • Distribution Ceremonies: As in the first phase, in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif provided laptops to university students via a ceremony; now, in phase 2, there will also be ceremonies in Universities.
  • On-spot Verification: Staff will also verify the students on spot before the distribution Ceremony.
